Description
The Nancy Thorp Poetry Contest is an annual competition for young women in their sophomore or junior year of high school. Sponsored by Hollins University, it was established in 1962 to honor Nancy Thorp, a promising young poet who was a member of the Hollins class of 1960.
Requirements
The contest is open to high school or preparatory school students who are young women in their sophomore (10th grade) or junior (11th grade) year. Entrants may submit up to two original, unpublished poems. Submissions are reviewed by students and faculty from Hollins University's renowned creative writing program
