The program invites rising juniors and seniors to participate in an intensive three-week creative writing experience. Offered in collaboration with Boston University’s esteemed MFA Program in Creative Writing, this program allows students to refine their craft by focusing on a different genre each week—fiction, poetry, and screenwriting. Morning seminars, led by experienced BU instructors and published writers, introduce formal writing techniques, while afternoons are dedicated to workshops, free-writing sessions around Boston, guest lectures, and visits to cultural landmarks that have inspired renowned authors. The program culminates in a "writers showcase," where students present their work to peers and the BU community. Participants will gain hands-on experience in various writing styles, receive guidance from accomplished authors, and develop confidence in their creative abilities through feedback and critique. Beyond academics, students will engage in social activities designed to help them explore BU’s campus, experience Boston, and connect with fellow participants. Free time can be spent independently or by joining group outings and events alongside students from other BU summer programs.
